Chapter synopsis: Precision application of biostimulants on a site-specific basis is a great opportunity for optimizing biostimulant efficacy and returns. This chapter looks at the available tools and emerging technologies for the monitoring and management of soil and crops, in order to address spatial and temporal variability. The potential of adopting precision agricultural techniques for the use of biostimulants is discussed, focusing on the targeted application of biostimulants for mitigation of abiotic stresses such as water, nitrogen and phosphorus deficiency.
