Chapter synopsis:

This chapter briefly focuses on various aspects of postharvest management of apple fruit quality, including harvest maturity, pre-cooling, storage (conventional cold storage, control atmosphere and dynamic control atmosphere), packaging, ethylene and respiration management by using pre-storage ripening controlling treatments such as 1-methylcyclopropene and description of the control measures of most prevalent postharvest physiological disorders during the entire supply chain of apple fruit.
