Chapter synopsis: This chapter reviews the main soil-based nematodes affecting coffee plants. In each case, the chapter discusses pest distribution and range, symptoms and damage caused, diagnosis, life cycle and control measures. These include preventative measures to limit movement of infected material, use of resistant varieties, cultural control measures such as use of rotations as well as biological control using parasitic microorganisms. An accompanying chapter reviews insect pests and diseases affecting coffee plants.
